More about this scene
St Mary's Church, which rises behind the Dolphin Hotel, is renowned for its lavishly-decorated tower and impressive tie beam roof, both of which date from its rebuilding in the 15th century. Sir William Wadham, whose family also founded the town's grammar school and Wadham College at Oxford in 1612, financed much of the work.
