More about this scene
Situated at the north east of Loch Awe, Kilchurn is a 15th-century tower built by Sir Colin Campbell of Glenorchy. Additional buildings were added on the south and north sides during the 16th and late 17th centuries respectively; these in turn created an irregular courtyard to what had been a free-standing tower. The castle was damaged during the same storm in 1879 that destroyed the Tay Bridge.
