The Dolby Family
A Memory of Kirk Hammerton.
My family, the Dolbys lived next door to Deighton's Butcher Shop (c1926). My father, Richard Edward Dolby worked as a groom for Colonel Staniforth. My mother, Winifred, was a teacher at Green Hammerton School for over 20 years. We were: Frank, John, Mary, Ruth, Enid and Audrey.

You may remember me as a little lad. John Blandford.Frank I knew well because he was in the army and did a lot of work on the cricket ground.I remember Audrey the best simply because she was closer to me in age.
I am Mary's daughter, Ruth.
Unfortunately, Mum had a stroke a few years back, so she won't remember you. What a shame, because otherwise she definitely would have remembered you. She remembered everyone in the village.
Thank you so much for taking the time to reply.
All the best,
Ruth.
