Court Lodge Children's Home
A Memory of Knockholt.
I remember Court Lodge very well and Knockholt as I wS in the children's home in 1964 I was 4 years old I can remember the couple who looked after us we had to call them mum n dad monrolly I think that's the name had a dark blue van I remember the van pulling at the house in Homefeilds Rise Orpington and me crying clinging on to a neighbour I knew wot was going on I rember having to help with the babies feeding and changing them I rember going to church and a young girl who worked there pearl her name wars she took me out once and we were in this big field and I Remember her telling me to run and I looked behind seeing a rider on horse don't know why we had to run but I still see it vivid I learnt the game " wits the time mr wolf" there to I didn't go to the school there but I rember some children going to school I remember the big room with a snooker table and the bug window looking out to a big view of fields I also remember going to a family once a week for tea in the village girl little older than me called Karen I also have a few bad memories to and to thus day I can't eat homemade rice pudding I was made to eat it I,d love to hear from anyone else that stayed there I remember peter a Wendy and a black boy called Mark who shut my finger in the toilet door lol had a bad finger having to go hospital came back with a big thick bandage and it was called my Dolly finger lol anyway would love to hear from you oh I had bright ginger hair to long lol. CARINA DIGHTON was my surname then xxx
