I remember Court Lodge very well and Knockholt as I wS in the children's home in 1964 I was 4 years old I can remember the couple who looked after us we had to call them mum n dad monrolly I think that's the name had a dark blue van I remember the van pulling at the house in Homefeilds Rise Orpington and me crying clinging on to a neighbour I knew wot was going on I rember having to help with the babies ...see more
Used to go out with a chap (wont say his name) who lived in Knockholt, his dad was a GP there at the time....lovely...lived in a lovely house of the beaten track as I remember, with it's own driveway and lovely trees on both sides....beautiful place.....only went there the once, but has stayed in my memory.
Surprised to find nobody remembers Knockholt!, such a pretty and peaceful little village, especially for a five year old boy coming from a small terraced house in Streatham to live in a Stately home care of The Church of England Children's Society.
