Knott End On Sea, The Village c.1960

More about this scene
An idea to rename this village St Bernard's-on-Sea in 1893 failed. The villagers would not accept it, although it was a valiant attempt to turn this Over-Wyre village into a popular watering place. To the right is Fleetwood Co-operative Society Ltd's grocery store. The road leads to the sea and the ferry service to Fleetwood across the River Wyre.
