More about this scene
A Pavilion by James Tait (1834-1915), typical of the early 1880s, with its hints of Gothic merging into Tudor fram- ing, making a valuable contribution to the ambience of the park, which was laid out in 1882. In this case, the formality of the rose garden enhances rather than detracts from the symmetry of the building.
