'beau Vista' Undercliff Gardens 1913
A Memory of Leigh-on-Sea.
I had an Great Aunt who used to rent out a house built in 1913 on the Undercliff called 'Beau Vista' which is now no.54. There were less than 7 houses there in 1913. There is a walk right in front of it. I visited it and took a photograph and with the help of the Residents's Committee Chairman who also lives there was able to learn more about it. It's a charming area and overlooks the sea and railway line which in 1913 would have been a real boon. F.W. Taylor was the builder and the Architects were Hardy & Harris.
