A popular stop-off for cyclists and walkers from the local towns long ago, this small settlement included the well known Cross Keys Inn, now derelict - as are most of the other buildings we see here. When the river is in flood, it also flows through the arches on the extreme right. A family stand by the high weir in the foreground. This is the site of an ancient watermill.
