Leverington N.U.S.Camp.
A Memory of Leverington.
I at last made it back to England after many years living in Australia. With time to spare one weekend, I thought why not? So off to Leverington I went. The train no longer goes to Wisbech. So by train to Peterboro, then bus to Wisbech. I had to ask someone to tell me when we got to
Wisbech. Wisbech is very much the same, a little bigger than our Camp days. I had no trouble finding my way around and finding the Leverington Road. From memory there used to be a church on the left hand side going towards the Camp. I knew that if I could find this church which was near the Camp then I could find the track leading to the back of the camp. After many hours looking I was told that the church had been pulled down 20 years ago and no one could show me where it had been so I never did find the camp. I would love to heare from anyone that might have been at NUS Leverington, late 50's, early 60's. John
