Christmas Deliveries: If you placed an order on or before midday on Friday 19th December for Christmas delivery it was despatched before the Royal Mail or Parcel Force deadline and therefore should be received in time for Christmas. Orders placed after midday on Friday 19th December will be delivered in the New Year.

Leysdown is a popular holiday resort on the Isle of Sheppey, reached by crossing the Kingsferry Bridge. Traders enjoyed brisk business here - they include the busy Choc Box, an amusement arcade, the Cabin Tea Rooms and a beachwear outlet. More than 40 years later, many visitors continue to pour in to stay at a resident caravan park offering karaoke and clubland singers on the entertainment bill.

Vanity Farm.

When I went to Leysdown in the 1960's there was a wonderful farm, we walked through the farm to get to the beach. It was lovely, for someone who lived in London, it was great. I saw cows up close, sheep up close, then we saw little chicks in the toilet block. I loved it back then. Went back to see the area a while ago, couldn't believe how run down it was. It was a mess! Such a pity!

Happy And Wonderful Memories Of Magical Leysdown
From 1950 to 1955 our family, spent whole summer holidays in our caravan at Leysdown on sea. Sometimes we travelled by steam train From Victoria to Sheerness and then bus to Leysdown. Once we used the car but the forty odd mile journey was not appreciated by our old Austin car and we had to give it several cooling off breaks.As far as I can remember only the platform remained ...see more

Mines
I remember the family going on holiday to Leysdown. It poured with rain. We arrived by coach from London and I helped Dad carry the cases to a chalet on a camp site. My main memory was seeing signs stating that certain beaches were unsafe due to mines. Barbed wire kept you away from the beach.

Sam The Peanut Man And My Holidays In The 60s
I love Leysdown. In fact when our boys were little we used to take them there. They in turn go there now. My dad couldn't drive so our uncle used to have a caravan on Harts Farm and we used to stay there. They were wonderful times. I've just remembered a boy from Stroods family had two caravans on Harts Farm. They were called Pixie and Dixie after the mice in 'Yogi Bear'. I ...see more

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
