Linton, The Dog And Duck c.1955

More about this scene
The inn on the banks of the river was two cottages and a shop in 1840. In 1851 it became an inn owned by the brewer Henry Prior. The pargetted panels are replacements of similar panels that decorated the plastered walls of many timber-framed buildings in Linton. The Dog and Duck may be named after a cruel local sport where spaniels were set onto pinioned ducks in an enclosed piece of water.
