More about this scene
Happy Valley was described as one of the best public parks or 'leisure grounds' in Britain, and was presented to the town by Lord Mostyn. It afforded views over the bay and mountains, and its grassy slopes encouraged people to sit and enjoy. This photograph catches a well-attended outside performance by minstrels in the exotically designed bandstand.
