Llandudno, The Parade 1895

More about this scene
'The Queen of Welsh resorts', Llandudno preserves much of its Victorian flavour, with its sweeping promenade faced by numerous hotels, its expanse of sands between the headlands of the Great and Little Ormes, its pier, its wide streets and its shops beneath glass canopies supported by delicately decorated cast-iron pillars. This view was taken looking towards the Great Orme, the Grand Hotel, the pier and the huge pier pavilion - later destroyed by fire - which seated 2,000. Bathing machines can be seen on the beach.
