Loftus, High Town Lane c.1960

More about this scene
This is a quaint corner of Loftus, which here looks totally unsuited for the traffic of the present day. A pedestrian footbridge known as Haugh Bridge on the left offers some protection on the sharp bend, and a strongly flowing stream runs under the road at this point. The tower of the parish church rises in the distance. This lane is called Dam Street at its junction with the High Street.
