More about this scene
One of the great city institutions, possibly the Mansion House, is hung with swags of flowrers and garlands for the great occasion of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee procession in 1897. The porch has a decorative pelmet embroidered with a message celebrating the sixty glorious years of her reign. A crowd has gathered outside, anxious to catch a glimpse of their sovereign and to catch a few words of the ceremony.
