More about this scene
Broadcasting House, the home of BBC Radio, was opened in 1932 with 22 studios. The white Portland stone building was painted grey with the coming of war, but a bomb fell in the centre in 1940 killing seven people during the 9.00 pm news - which continued uninterrupted. All Souls' is still in scaffolding following bomb damage.
