More about this scene
The finest prospect of Barry’s Palace of Westminster is to be enjoyed from the river, where the facade extends to a length of almost a thousand feet. The strong vertical detailing was clearly intended to create the impression of a just and God- fearing Parliament aspiring to the Heavenly virtues.
