The handsome triple-arched gateway, with its classical screen and groups of Ionic columns, was intended originally to create a noble approach to the Park from Buckingham Palace. It was designed and built in 1828 by Decimus Burton.The omnibus on the right, heading for Pimlico, is advertising the famous furnishing and decorating emporium of Maples.
