More about this scene
This quaint old house sits on a corner in Lincoln’s Inn Fields. It has been claimed, probably erroneously, that it is the original of ‘the Old Curiosity Shop’ made immortal by Dickens as the home of ‘Little Nell’. In this 1950s view it has become an exclusive antique shop but in Victorian times it was a rather dingy emporium owned by H Poole, a jobbing stationer.
