I was one of the first to go to this school when it opened us girls moved from Tidworth Down school i was in my 3rd year then dont know what that would be in todays school years i remember the girls all sitting in the hall at Tidworth Down while they told us what would happen they told us about the uniform think we all had the same thoughts on that enough said but at that time there was talk of STRAW BOATERS as part of ...see more
I hated that school; remember the 'Black Crow?' We were all stood there in our sick mustard colour, she would sweep down in the all black gown, together with the bloody hat on her head. Bye the way; my mum was the school cook, as a result was booted out. Oh well, s..t happens, take care,love Diane, ignore tag.
I lived in Ludgershall from 1931 through 1938. My father ran The Crown after he retired from the Navy. There is/was a ghost in the pub, he lived in the attic (the building had a double roof). My sister and I played in the horse stables, and occasionally in the pond, located around the pump out back - the pond was caused by heavy rain. I was a choirboy at the Church. I went to the St James School next to this church, but left in 1965 when we emigrated to Australia. Surname was Wheeler-Smith. Brothers Michael and Peter. Father Arthur, mother Barbara. Anyone remember? Dad was a fireman and also worked at Roys as a french polisher.
