My Memories
A Memory of Ludgershall.
I lived in Ludgershall from 1931 through 1938. My father ran The Crown after he retired from the Navy. There is/was a ghost in the pub, he lived in the attic (the building had a double roof). My sister and I played in the horse stables, and occasionally in the pond, located around the pump out back - the pond was caused by heavy rain. I was a choirboy at the Church. One time we 'went on strike' for more pay, the pay then was a farthing per week. Our elders quickly put an end to that fun and games!
