This view looks southwards across Lyme Bay from the main path through Langmoor Gardens, which were given to the town by James Moly of Langmoor Manor, Charmouth. The path emerges in Pound Street. The project to create the gardens was undertaken by borough surveyor Frederick Hugh McDonnell, and the elegant gates at Top o' Town were ceremonially opened by the Mayor, Henry Octavius Bickley, in June 1913. The medieval Cobb harbour spreads out below (centre left) with a shingle beach separating it from Cobb hamlet (centre).
