The fourth building on the right used to be blue, and it still is. Then it was Batemans Opticians; now it is a boutique. Next but one was Smith the chemist's - the projecting sign is now removed. F C Webb's shoe shop was seventh along, and above it was a hairdresser's. Today there is a photo developer and an osteopath's. Now the pavement is indented to include a bus stop, and there is a pedestrian crossing and road markings.

Elmers Court School.

Great school I was there from 1965 to 1969. We went into Lymington every Saturday to spend our pocket money. There was a toy shop at the bottom of the High Street. I think it was painted yellow at the front. Spent lots of my pocket money in there. A lovely town, I have revisited many times since. Best wishes to everyone.

Boyhood Memories Of Lymington
My parents, Edward (Jack) and Mavis Byard and myself and German Shepherd Dog Julie, moved from Poole, in Dorset, to live in a de-commissioned British Power Boat Motor Torpedo Boat, 451, in November 1947. My father worked for the company's No 2 yard during the war repairing action damaged MTBs and MGBs and at the war's end these Coastal Craft were rapidly de-commissioned and my parents purchased one. Boldre Church (St. John The Baptist)
This 11th Century Church in Boldre forms a cornerstone of my formative years. I attended Rope Hill School in Boldre in the early 1950's - for four years, we boarders attended the Church every Sunday during the terms after walking to and from the School in crocodile formation regardless of the weather conditions, and it usually rained a lot. Genealogy & Research Images

Despite over 20 years’ work on the archive, these scans have still not been individually checked and may prove to be damaged, faded, or not of sufficient quality to ever be offered in our full product range. However, if you would particularly like to buy one of these please get in touch quoting the Frith negative number,(s) the town name and size of print you would like to buy. On receipt of your enquiry our archivist will check the scan and advise you if the quality is good enough.

What is an Album?

An album is a way to save a selection of Frith photos, maps and memories that are of interest to you.

Creating an Album enables you to make short lists and then make a final selection from the album. In particular it makes ordering things like calendars much easier - simply create an Album of the 12 photos you like and then use the Album when placng your order - our order process will give you this option.

You can create as many Albums as you want, so perhaps make one for your hometown, where you live now, where your parents live now etc.
