I lived at Lymm Conservative club from 1949-1955 & my brother & I went to Pepper Street School. We knew Walter & Margaret Haddon, who were caretakers at the school. We loved to play in the playground when the school was shut - much more fun. I remember the house in the picture but never knew it's significance. Has anyone any photos of the Lymm Con. Club?

I went to the school in the village until I was twelve, then I went to the Grammar School. I walked past the home every day and often wondered who lived there. I sometimes saw children in the grounds and adults. It was all a bit of a mystery really, we only knew that they were Jewish children. Being children ourselves, we didn't ask questions.
