Typically, much of the older part of Maidenhead has long since disappeared, replaced by modern urban development. The original Town Hall in the High Street was a solid, sturdy building squeezed between lines of shops.

I remember going into a Wimpey in the 50s`s opposite the old town hall steps . Also teddy boys and mods and rockers hanging around outside the old town hall .
