Llanmartin
A Memory of Malpas.
My family lived at Llanmartin when it still looked like a prisoner of war camp. Although I was confirmed in Llanmartin church, there was also a Sunday school held in one of the huts on the estate and my mother played the piano for this. Initially I went to school in Undy but later went to Larkfield in Chepstow. I remember the long lonely lane leading up to the estate; just one unlit cottage about halfway up ...it seemed even further in the dark! If anyone has any photographs of the old camp I would love to hear from them.
