More about this scene

This is a quiet town on the south bank of the River Stour, at the point where it begins to widen into the estuary. In the High Street there are a few parked cars, but no pedestrians, apart from the two women and a child in the doorway on the right. That house is now a shop, and the large building with the clock has been replaced with new houses. We can see the Crown Hotel towards the end of the road on the left.

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

My mother grew up in manningtree, living in the house with the three people standing outside. Standing in the door are my aunt Barbara and either my mother Janet, or her sister Julie. The lady standing on the path, we think, is my great aunt Aggie, we also think the motor bike and side car belonged to Aggies brother Jack.
