This road runs south to Stokesley, some five miles away. The Mobil petrol station is just off to the left - they were evidently offering Green Shield Stamps in return for purchases at that time. The traffic here today is phenomenal, and lights now control the crossroads in the middle distance. The fields in the background are now filled with houses.
