This hamlet of miners' cottages at Minions was first known as Cheesewring Railway because the line of that name passed through in 1846. John Gerry's Cheesewring Hotel on the left is still open today; it is the highest hostelry in Cornwall at just under 1000ft above sea level. The railway and mines have long since closed, but visitors come here to explore the moors and the famous Cheesewring rocks.
