Misterton, Station Street 1958

More about this scene
Station Street turns east from the High Street, and once led to the railway station on the branch line from Gainsborough to Doncaster, closed since the 1960s. At the junction is the tower of the former Board Schools, built in 1872; the building to its right was demolished in the 1960s for junction improvements. My great-grandfather had his printing business at Station Villa in Station Road. Here he published Durdey's Almanack from 1878 until about 1916 – it was similar to Whitaker's, but more local.
