50th Anniversary

A Memory of Mitcham.

50 years ago next month my wife and I were married in St.Marks church in Mitcham. Marion Cornell was one of our bridesmaids. If you see this Marion, or any one that knows you, we would like to hear from you . My wife is Carol Snowdon nee Rutledge.

Are you aware of the oldmitchamians web site. Its purpose is to reach out the to people who attended the Mitcham Grammar Schools. The name Lorna Cornell appears on the site. We do not know Lorna's attendance dates but she may be related. However there may be other names you recognise. I hope this will help you in your quest. Happy anniversary. Jim Anslow (1955-1963)
Hi Jim,

Am clearing out old browser bookmarks and came to the link for this page and saw your mention of oldmitchamians.

I was vaguely aware of it so had a look: very nostalgic!

Lots of memories and one snippet of which I was unaware. My babysitters in New Barns Avenue were a rather attractive lass and her fella, Doug Bassano. Great friends of my folks, Doug died too young. I contacted Jean while we were spending a lot of time in Kent three years ago but never met: I’ll have to email her again.

Good to see your name!

You may like to know that a few of the old partying crowd are still drawing breath. Apart from Pat (Ibbott) and me, Roy & Lin Scandrett, Keith Scandrett, Les West, Bill Points, Eddie Furnish are all hanging on.

Best wishes,

Richard
