Mitcham My Early Days
A Memory of Mitcham.
I moved to Mitcham in the mid. 1940s with my family, my father James, my mother Margery and my sister Janice. We lived for a short while at 1 Robin Hood Lane and then 20 Holly Way.
I remember the Monday pre-school club and later the Youth club at the Church of the Ascension in Greenwood Road. Janice and I attended the Pollards Hill Infants and Junior schools and then the Mitcham Grammar schools.
Although I have lost touch with most of my contemporaries at the Pollards Hill Schools and the Youth club, I am connected with Grammar School former pupils through the Old Mitchamians Association via its web site.
