More about this scene

Caption for Monaghan, Dawson Street C1910: A view looking south from Church Square along Dawson Street, which leads to Ballybay. The typical wide street is almost devoid of traffic, and the little boys posing for the camera can happily play in the street. The chimney is a reminder that the linen industry flourished here.
