More about this scene
With its wall-mounted Victorian letterbox, modern telephone box, and window display of assorted goods, this little post office was of central importance to the daily lives of the inhabitants of this small hamlet on the River Stour. Around the time of the first millennium, a Saxon queen donated the settlement to the monks of Christ Church, Canterbury.
