War Memorials

A special selection of photographs from our Archive of the War Memorials that connect us with those who fought and perished in the conflicts that have shaped the world we live in today. "They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, We will remember them."- Laurence Binyon, For The Fallen

A Selection of Memories from Monkton

For many years now, we've been inviting visitors to our website to add their own memories to share their experiences of life as it was, prompted by the photographs in our archive. Here are some from Monkton

Sparked a Memory for you?

If this has sparked a memory, why not share it here?

I remember standing in the oast house with my neighbour Mr Rammult and my dad Eddie Styles, smelling the marvellous aroma of the hops as they were being dried. It is a smell that brings back many happy memories and stories about the hop fields.
