Moreton is the last resting place of Lawrence of Arabia, who lived nearby at Cloud's Hill. He died on the Bovington road in May 1935 riding his beloved motorcycle. Seventy years later, pilgrims still make the journey to pay homage at his grave.

I would dearly love to hear from anyone who remembers my mother, myself and my sister when we lived at 'Crossways' with the Radclyffe family. My mother was their cook/housekeeper. It was the early sixties and we lived there for about five or six years. She was called June Hindley and my sister was Tina. I went to Moreton school and again, if anyone remembers me being there I would love to hear from you.

My grandfather was James Westmacott and he was a tenant farmer in Moreton definitely in 1911 when he married my grandmother Irene Smithells they had 2 sons Ken and David(b.1914),the latter being my farther. I know very little about my grandparents so any information or pics would be very interesting.
My family on my mums side were the Bedford's that owned and worked in the Bakery. Fred Bedford was my grandad, sadly we lost him when I was 18, back in 1984. With the expansion of supermarkets, and increased focus on food hygiene and European leglislation unfortunately the business folded in the mid 90s. As a child my life was with the army. Warmwell was a transit camp for some and my father was leaving the Army. We had to live there whilst he looked for work outside the army. My brother went to Dorchester Grammar, as I was much younger I went to Moreton School. Can anyone tell me if part of the house was used as a classroom as I always pictured being upstairs at school, or is my memory playing tricks. I remember ...see more
