Moss Dalts Farm

A Memory of Moss Dalts.

This is not a memory of mine but a memory I found in a photograph album from a Charity shop in Derbyshire with which I am very intrigued. On opening the album there was a single page of writing which states:
.....'My sister Betty (Elizabeth Simpson of Millthwaite, Holmrook, Seascale, Cumbria.gave me this album which had belonged to our mother Mrs Joseph W. Hewitson of Moss Dalts Farm, then (not sure of this spelling?) Yemton farm and for the last two years of her sad life at Steelfield hall Gosforth for retired folk.
The album has numerous photos in but the only one identified by the family is Auntie Edythe in her confirmation gown,by Auntie Lily mother's youngest sister.........................................'
There seems to be a sadness around the memory from the tellers point of view.
Can anyone throw any light on this lady's life or her relatives and what happened to this lady?

Elizabeth Simpson was my mother and her sister was Jean Hewitson. Jean's daughter lives in Derbyshire. Mrs Joseph Watson Hewitson was the mother of Jean and Elizabeth. Edith and lily are my grandmothers sisters from Shrewsbury.

Hello All!
I am researching the Corn Mill and Mill Race that connected the beck behind (west of) Millthwaite to a 'Mill Pond' which Millthwaite was built on. Interested in when Millthwaite was built. The Mill Pond is seen on the 1913 OS maps at 25 inch scale (you can zoom in on various maps from https://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=5.0&lat=56.00000&lon=-4.00000&layers=168&b=1 ) but Millthwaite is built by the 1965 OS 1:25,000.
Any idea when Millthwaite was built and why they filled in the Mill Pond?
