More about this scene
Here, at Belmont Hill, we are looking out of the village, towards the former toll bridge over Wicken Water. The timber-framed house dates from the late 15th or early 16th century, though it was extended later on. The woman's short-skirted summer dress and cloche hat are typical of the early 1930s.
