More about this scene
The original idea behind the creation of the Arboretum was to give the citizens of Nottingham a scenic park in which to relax. However, for the first few years after its opening in 1852 the public were admitted free of charge on only three days a week, while there was an admission charge of 6d for adults and 3d for children on other days.
