Cadhay House was built by the Elizabethan lawyer John Haydon, who now rests in Ottery's parish church. As well as this beautiful Tudor mansion, built partly from stones salvaged from the pre- Reformation monastic college in Ottery, Haydon also built the first of the parish's bridges across the River Otter.

I used to work for a radio paging company in the 1960's called Radio Intercom. It was based in Batts Lane, next to the old fire station. I wonder, does anyone have pictures or memories of this company. I believe it changed it's name to Verhagen Electronics after I left.
I have many pleasant memories of working for Radio Intercom, and often wonder were my old colleagues are now.

How funny! We now own and live in this house. It has barely changed since this photograph, although it is no longer a guest house and its name is different. There are some barns and a coach house in the background which have been partly demolished; a small conservatory has been added to the left of the porch.
