More about this scene
Over to the right is the unmistakable façade of the Sheldonian Theatre, designed by Christopher Wren and opened in 1669. Built for meetings and concerts, the theatre was named after Gilbert Sheldon, the 17th-century Archbishop of Canterbury. To the left of it is the Clarendon Building, formerly the headquarters of the Oxford University Press.
