More about this scene
Tom Tower is such an integral feature of Oxford that it is synonymous with the city's world-famous skyline. Oxford simply would not be Oxford without it. John Fell, one-time Dean of Christ Church, engaged Christopher Wren to crown the main gateway with Tom Tower, transferring the medieval bell known as Old Tom from the cathedral to the college.
