More about this scene
The parish of Peasmarsh is situated between the River Rother on the north and the River Tillingham on the south. The village, about three miles north-west of Rye, lies on the Beckley to Rye road. During the 19th and early 20th centuries, hops were recorded as its main crop. The house on the right is clad in weatherboarding, a typical Wealden building material.
