Derek Hall’s Pensax School Memories
A Memory of Pensax.
As I was brought up in Menith Wood from the late fifties until the early sixties I attended Pensax School where Miss Jones and Mrs Attwood were our teachers for every lesson. I remember some of my school friends like Michael Colbatch, Patrick Langdon and David Rece, Janet Holt, Francis Holt Jaqueline Bradley and my sister Pamela Hall. It seemed there were more girls than boys at the time. One of the best things I remember, at every chance we were schooled outside on the grass bank or gardening in the school garden with its fish pond, also the long walk home along the lanes past the cherry orchards and gooseberry fields also strawberry fields where temptation got the better of us until farmers got wise and periodically sat in the fields gateways on tractors waiting for us to pass by.
