An Idyllic Childhood
A Memory of Pevensey Bay.
We moved to Pevensey Bay when I was 4. In the Summer, the three of us would go down to the beach, early in the morning, while our parents were still asleep, and dig in the sand, and play. This was our childhood. We didn't know then how lucky we were, or how carefree our life was, but now, in later years, I have come to realise that few people knew such freedom as us. Certainly, my boys have had as much as I could give them, albeit on the other side of the world, but the memories of the beach will be forever in my heart.
I realise, with the passage of time, life has changed, but memories stay as fresh today as they ever were. We were truly blessed.

I lived next to the castle inn pub till I was five then moved to the centre of the bay.my name is john parks I have a twin brother Alan.
My surname was Cann, and my brothers were Chris and Julian. Maybe you would be a similar age to Chris. He used to go to the Castle hotel before moving to London. Julian is in Brisbane (Aus.) and Chris in Jersey (Channel Islands), and I live in the Dandenong Ranges outside Melbourne. Very far flung.. Lovely to hear from you. Val
I remember you well, all the fishing with Dave Scott and drinking with you and your parents in the Castle Inn. I shall always remember your dad telling me he once drove across the marshes on a motor bike and a rabbit ran through the spokes of his front wheel. He didn't think anything of it until he got to where he was going only to discover that his best white mac was covered in blood and guts.
