No 8 Pickmere Lane
A Memory of Pickmere.
This is the cottage my grandparents Mary (Molly) and Harry Winnington lived for over 70 years. I along with my sisters spent many happy times there during holidays and weekends. We used to visit nanna's friends, Ethyl and Percy Robinson on Earles Lane. My friends Louise and Michelle Moore, Auntie Margaret and Uncle Frank all from Field House across the road.
Louise and I spent our teens sprawled out on the front lawn in summer listening to David Essex on Tape!!
The Browns further up towards the Red Lion, I remember Christine and Karen Brown they had a piano which played itself!!
Mr and Mrs Jewison. Mrs Gresty, Marjorie and John Robinson to name but a few.
Who remembers the chapel bazzar and bran tub etc??
Walks up Spinks lane with Grandad and over the styles to pickmere lake.
Free ride on the merrygoround as Nanna new the chap who ran it.
Cheethams of course ran the lake house where my Aunt and Uncle had their wedding reception.
Lovely memories....
