More about this scene
St Mary's was built in 1833 by lord of the manor William Ponsonby. He was a Liberal Party supporter, and not popular with Conservative supporters; they built nearby St Peter's in Parkstone, which was consecrated the day after St Mary's. This view is taken from the allotments, now occupied by Poole's modern hospital.
