More about this scene
The harbour here is sheltered by Lobber Point (left) from the prevailing westerlies; although it is wider and easier to navigate than Boscastle, say, it still presented problems for schooners such as that in picture No 37023. In any sort of swell (the usual conditions on this coast), setting sail was a tricky business.
