More about this scene
Here we see the inspiring granite coastline near Land's End. Across the bay the rocky headland of Treryn Dinas is surmounted by the Logan Rock, a 60-ton block that can be rocked on its perch. In 1824, Lt Goldsmith and his crew managed to dislodge it, but the resulting outcry obliged him to hire tackle to lift it back.
